Potential boost for Cardiff Airport as Millennium Stadium hosts 2017 Champions League final

Cardiff Airport will benefit as Millennium Stadium is confirmed as hosts of the 2017 UEFA Champions League final.

 

Cardiff Airport are no strangers to large events as they have played a huge role for hosting Nato Summit 2014, Ryder Cup, UEFA Super Cup, RBS Six Nations, Rugby World Cup, Heineken Cup finals and the IPC Athletics Championships.  News Section

Cardiff Airport to host fly in for Wales Air Ambulance charity

On Sunday 9 August Cardiff Airport will open its doors to invite private aircraft to ‘fly in’ to Cardiff for a one-off reduced landing fee of £15 only.


The ‘fly in’ is open to light, privately owned aircraft weighing up to a maximum of two metric tonnes, offering a rare opportunity for pilots to enjoy the full experience of landing in a fully-operational commercial airport.  News Section

End of an era for search and rescue at RAF Valley

Search and rescue helicopter operations are moving from RAF Valley on Anglesey to Caernarfon from Wednesday.


Bristow has a 10-year contract from the Department of Transport to operate from 10 UK bases on behalf of HM Coastguard.  News Section

Cardiff Aviation soars into success with £3m woth of business in nine months

Cardiff Aviation chaired by Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson has completed more than £3m worth of business over the last nine months.

The company says it has completed 43 maintenance inputs on passenger aircraft - including Boeing 737s, 757s and Airbus A320s - on behalf of airlines and leasing companies since last October.  News Section

The future of Haverfordwest Airport under the spotlight.

A “Detailed review” of Haverfordwest Airport will be carried out after a notice of motion questioned the facility being run by the County Council.


Cllr Bob Kilmister brought forward a motion that asked that council “recognises that running an airports not a suitable function for a Local Authority”.  News Section
